The $25 Million Dollar Hoax

Author: Joanne King

Well this show just recently aired in Australia (so I may be a little slow here) but I got to say it was quite an emotional roller coaster! For them no doubt and to watch!

Initially I was trying to get into the frame of mind of "What would I do in this situation? Would I participate in a hoax like this on my family? Would I put them through thinking we're set for life?"

At first I wasn't really sure if I would put them (my family) through something like this only to leave them devastated at the fact that "they" wouldn't be set for life, then as I begun to watch it unravel and seeing how "cruel" she had to be towards her family I thought to myself "there is no way in the world I could do that to my family".

Now even she (Chrissie I think her name was) was having second thoughts on what she had got herself into. (Which I don't blame her, I would probably be having a lot of regrets watching my family slowly despise me more and more each day). But she realized she had dug herself in too deep that the outcome would probably be much bleaker if she revealed her secret now.

I must admit some of the scenes were almost painful to watch as you see some of the family members dreams just slip away.

The ending certainly caught me by surprise and there was definitely a valuable lesson to be learnt in watching that show. It was probably a hard lesson for them all to learn first hand.

But we all have our lessons in life that shape us and deliver new aspects about ourselves. We don't have enough time to experience every learning curve first hand, but thankfully we do have things like TV, movies, books, internet and sharing story's with our friends and family where we can find little life messages that can help us to grow from someone else's experience.
