Milk: Is It for You?

Author: Zach Bashore

Milk has recently been known for its ability of doing the body good, but does it actually live up to the hype by doing a body good? Everyone has their own opinions about drinking milk, and they either love it or hate it. You are going to learn what milk is, the benefits of milk, and the negatives of this controversial drink. There is no right or wrong answer to whether you should consume it. You must make that decision for yourself.

Milk is a white liquid secreted by mammals, and used as food by human beings. It`s produced in the mammary glands of female mammals primarily for the use of feeding their young. Milk`s primary benefits are the nutritional aspects it has on infants. It contains the perfect ratio of amino acids for growth, and also contains numerous vitamins and minerals needed during infancy. Fitness enthusiasts have different opinions on drinking milk due to the fact that milk has as many known negatives to it as it does positive effects.

No matter what type of milk you consume, you are guaranteed roughly eight grams of protein per serving. The digestion of carbohydrates makes milk considered a complex carbohydrate due to the fact that the milk contains trace amounts of fat. Milk also contains numerous vitamins such as Calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Zinc, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin B2. The nutritious benefits of milk are outstanding, but the dangers of drinking it may change your opinion.

Rense.com defines cow`s milk as, "An unhealthy fluid from diseased animals that contain a wide range of dangerous and disease-causing substances that have a cumulative negative effect on all who consume it." All cow`s milk contains fifty-nine active hormones, scores of allergens, fat, cholesterol, and measurable quantities of pesticides, herbicides, blood, pus, bacteria, and viruses. You also have to consider that the milk you drink contains trace amounts of whatever the cow had eaten previously. Your milk also may have been from a diseased cow, which you could easily get sick from. Diseases such as diabetes, influenza, bronchitis, emhysema, asthma, heart disease, and cerebro-vascular condition have all been linked to the consumption of cow`s milk.

Drinking milk could be considered bad for some people, but for the majority of us, drinking milk is perfectly fine. After learning the negatives of milk, I feel that I will still drink it, but simply not drink as much as I have been. After giving you the above information, you are going to have to decide whether you want to add milk to your diet or not. No one can make that decision for you. Until next time, later!
