Innovation on the Way!

Author: Josh L

It seems as if the gaming industry has a surprising year in story for us! With the release of the Xbox 360 in late '05 and the PS3 and Nintendo Revolution quickly coming down the pipeline, new innovation is on the way. But is it really?

Whatever the Xbox 360 had going, it was quickly drowned by reports of overheating, melting, freezing, and breaking. There was even a situation where an Xbox 360's laser CD Drive had gone into some kind of overdrive, burning through the tray, disc, drive, and cover into a man's house. Due to supply and demand, the wildly popular consoles were obviously put together badly, turning consoles into weapons.

But the innovations heard for the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Revolution are excitingly pleasing. PS3: better graphics and sound, completely wireless controller, built-in internet, and just an overall better system, all better than the updates between the PS1 and PS2. Sounds interesting, does it not? Revolution: a brand new controller that is in constant update, with abilities such as virtual jousting and the like, a new system in general with better games, and internet for features as even downloading official ROMs from NES games.

Sounds amazingly cool, right? Or is it all hype? It is clear that most gamers will say "Sweet!" and begin saving up money for their new gaming system. All of the innovations look like a comparison between the 1954 Supercomputer with the power of a child's toy of today and a brand new state-of-the-art Pocket PC, or between a 1950 Telephone and the Motorola RAZR. Or is it all an old dog trying to do a few new tricks? The gaming industry seems to be going off the deep end by why of repetitive objectives and similar things. What Mario Party are we at now, 72? said a gamer at GameSpot.

As we are around the bend of a slew of new innovations with new games and old friends from other consoles, what will come next? Its all on the way... Can't afford any of them? Just play some Flash Games instead. You may find a wide variety at www.GameRebels.com, where you may play free games online.
