Male Enhancement Surgery

Author: Kristy Annely

Male enhancement surgery is an important male enhancement option available today. This treatment generally involves penile implant surgery and penis enlargement surgery (or phalloplasty).

Penile implant surgery involves the placement of two implants in the penis, one placed in the left erectile chamber and other in the right. Penile implants make the penis hard enough for penetration. Since the implants are completely hidden inside, this technique provides excellent cosmetic and functional result in most patients.

Male enhancement surgery uses implants of several types with different features. The common categories include the non-inflatable rods that are bendable and can be manipulated to provide an erection. Other types are the inflatable implants that consist of fluid to give a more natural erection. The penis gets hard because of the fluid movement within or to cylinders in the penis. Penis enlargement surgeries to increase the length and the girth are often performed separately. Surgery to increase the length usually involves snipping the suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone and moving skin from the abdomen to the penile shaft. The suspensory ligament stabilizes and gives an upward tilt to an erect penis. Male enhancement surgery to increase the girth includes suctioning fat from a fleshy part of the body and injecting the fat into the penis. There is one more technique, which is simply to fix fat cut away from the buttocks or abdomen onto the penile shaft. Some physicians also use tissue from cadavers.

Another phalloplasty technique is the bugineal surgery with bilateral saphenous grafts. This features grafting blood vessels from somewhere else in the body to the penis so as to increase blood circulation and penis width during erection.

Male enhancement surgery still remains risky, because it creates a lot of complications such as infection, scar tissue formation, pain, swelling, and lumpiness. Other ill effects include impotence and urinary incontinence. Cost of a male enhancement surgery ranges from $3,000 to $10,000.
