As those in the Greater Houston area awaits for the deluge of rain to flood their city, we all know too well what will happen. The surrounding areas of Houston are low-lying areas, which are not that far above sea level and they are also known to be very prone to flooding. Not more than 4-weeks the prior we saw the damage and devastation that such a storm could do and just when we thought Hurricane Season was winding down, Mother Natures says; "oh, ho, not so fast!" Hurricane Rita a fluctuating Category IV, Category V Hurricane is getting closer every hour, she is coming and even the Christians have stopped praying and are getting out of dodge. You can see the stress on the faces of the passengers in the cars. A few are praying as they drive on a mobile basis. There is no road rage as the weary folks wade their way thru traffic. It's coming and there is not a darn thing anyone can do. The military and FEMA are moving in, they have full cooperation this time with state and local officials and it is going to run like a clock. There are no communication problems this time, everyone is ready for the horrific havoc and complete chaos. The sound and fury of Mother Nature once again is flexing her muscle to remind us that we live on the surface of the planet and should not take anything for granted. There will be those who stay, those ballsy thrill seekers thinking that they need more excitement and adrenaline in their lives and indeed they will get it. They may very well also get a ticket right out of Texas and into out of their life experience. If you were in Houston would you wait for Rita? The warm waters of the Gulf have provided Rita the perfect storm and the Red Headed Rita is one step closer to Y'all. Think on this. |
