Never Have Another Bad Day!

Impossible you think
Tragic things happen over which I have no control
Bad days make me human
NOBODY has 365 good days a year
It would take a miracle for ME to never have another bad day

And what if a miracle did happen and you never had another bad day in your whole entire life? Now just how great would that feel? Just imagine how thrilling your life could be each and every moment if you werent spending so much time dealing with your bad days.

Theres no magic genie that is going to pop out of a lantern to grant your wish of NO MORE BAD DAYS; the real magic lies in your own attitudes and behaviors. Your response to the world is what creates your world, which means YOU can change your world! Yes..you really are that powerful. Sorry, no more cop outs for not having great days every day. No more blaming somebody or something for how you feel. The gig is up, the die has been cast, the frost is on the pumpkin, the partys over and its time for you to take charge of YOU!

Is TAKING CHARGE OF YOU an easy task? And the answer is:

Which one did you choose? RIGHT ANSWER! If you've decided it will be an easy task ... then it will. Its also true that if you decided it will be a difficult task that is also true for you. And if you answered maybe, then Im quite sure youll be drawn to the YES response with little effort. Whatever belief you hold in your heart and soul is what will manifest in your life. So, if you believe, or at least dearly want to believe, that you can actually have NO MORE BAD DAYS lets GO!

EMOTIONAL THROW-UP

Okay, so youre serious about pursuing a life filled with absolutely, awesome, wonderful days. Before we can get into the nitty-gritty of what the heck is happening to your days to make them horrid there are a couple of foundational pieces upon which the other pieces rest. The first one isoh no its really true FEELINGS!!! If you dont have a clue how you feel about anything you are not going to be able to figure out what to do about anything. You may just know that you have an emotional throw-up episode every now and then without having the foggiest idea what really prompted the mess you made all over everybody around you.

Theres this ridiculous belief alive and well in our society that in order to have a great day any day we should never feel sadness or pain or any of the so called negative emotions. That is really a whole bunch of baloney. Many of you are probably spending a good share of your energy keeping down those bad emotions. Yeahthey suck! Who in their right mind would want to feel THOSE? But you know what? There are a ton of people out there who manage to show up every day pretty darn happy. So they must have something going for themselves, as its just not possible that they are immune to the garbage that life throws at everyone else. But so many spend so much time, energy, and money trying to avoid what ultimately can lead to tragic consequences. Addiction, over-eating, alcoholism, over-shopping, etc. all arise from the misguided attempt to keep those blessed bad feelings at bay. It just doesnt work!

LIFE IS A SANDWICH

Life is very much like a sandwich; its full of all kinds of different layers. Imagine that you started out with your own life sandwich neatly layered to assist you throughout your life. The deal is that all of the sandwich must be eaten in your lifetime; (sorry, theres no choice here). Some of the layers in the sandwich are absolutely delicious and some of them are about as vile as you can get. So what do most do? Well of course, they eat as many delicious layers as possible and do whatever it takes to never get into the yuck stuff. But remember the deal. You WILL have to eat those yuck layers sooner or later and wouldnt it be much better to eat them as you go?

Nobody gets out of this lifetime without taking in those yuck layers of the sandwich, without feelings of sadness, despair, loneliness and pain. They are part of life itself and enable us to more deeply feel the joys, thrills and outright glee, which is also part of our humanity. All of your feelings are valid and good in spite of the fact that you may have learned somewhere in your history to stuff them, deal with them, get rid of them. They are part of your true nature, all of them.

PUT ON THE BRAKES

So how to open up and get moving? Meditation, yoga, tai chi, journal writing and many other activities that quiet the mind and body are great and may work for you. But if that doesnt seem to fit your style here are a few suggestions:

Put on some tunes and dance in the house
Talk to the cat or take the dog for a romp
Watch the birds at your feeder
Get into the garden and dont wear gloves
Lose yourself in a delicious creative activity
Mountain bike on a super muddy trail
Watch a DVD that you think is hilarious

Whats the silliest thing you could do that would make you smile?

How do you think youd feel if you engaged in something outside of your norm that you just loved to do?

What do you REALLY, REALLY want to do but are afraid of what others might say?

What made you happy as a youngster?

There as many ways of putting on your personal brakes as there are people in the world. You know best what will work for you so now your only challenge is CHOOSING to put a smile on your face, to feel whats inside wanting to come out ... and let it!
