In too many places you are limited to motel/resort style room, which limits the size of family that can be accommodated. Facilities are also limited in that you are unable to cook or do your own clothes washing, which will considerably add to the cost of your vacation.

Apartment resorts catering to the tourist have 1,2 or 3 bedrooms allowing a family of 6+ to holiday in comfort. The apartments are all fully self-contained with full cooking and laundry facilities. each one will be different.
